2.4.2.1 3D Display Configuration

Driver installation

Depending on your hardware and your Debian distribution, you may need to manually install the official display drivers of your graphic card. In order to do so, please check the specific documentation available for your distribution/system.

Deactivate the desktop 3D effects

If you have 3D effects enabled on your desktop environment, then this may unfortunately interfere with any other 3D based applications such as the ones from Crystal Space. You may therefore have to disable these effects in order to avoid problems such as flickering, slow or unresponsive applications.

Under Ubuntu Natty 11.04 and higher, this is done at login. Once you have selected the user you want to login, select the “Ubuntu Classic (No effects)” option at the bottom of your screen.
