Sounds great, why not create an article in Crystal Community?
32  Miscellaneous / Article/Tutorial Discussion / Some things you need to know before you start on: December 29, 2004, 12:15:35 am
I've noticed that we already have a large number of tutorials! That is good, but before you write your tutorials you must know some things.

Point 1
Read my Tutorial for Writing Tutorials for TikiWiki!  This tutorial has some tips for people getting the most out of your tutorials or articles!

It keeps frustrating me that people just put slabs of text for a tutorial or an article. Read my tutorial! It helps people like me who like visually aesthetic texts!

Point 2
Also for people who already have written tutorials, but find out that you cannot edit it because you don't have enough permissions. TikiWiki doesn't allow people to be their own admin for their articles in 1.8 (or so it seems).

If you know you can for tikiwiki, and know the instructions please post it here or PM me.

I'm not just going to give away the Editors permissions to everyone. Request it through PM-ing me in this forum or through the TikiWiki website found on my signature. Once you have done so, I'm going to see how active you are in the community and judge whether or not to give you permissions.
33  Crystal Space Development / Support / which IDE for mingw32 do you prefer? on: December 28, 2004, 11:51:24 pm
Well of course, there is that popular one:
Dev-C++. Personally I don't like it too much, but it's got a simple IDE and it gets the job done.

MinGW Studio. This one is very similar to Microsofts VC6, and you might want to look at it. It's slightly harder to use, but in my opinion it is much better than Dev-C++.  Also, it's not as popular as MSVC so I don't think Crystal Space has a project file for it (as with many other projects. It does work with makefiles to an extent so you could play around with that.

Of course, you shouldn't take my opinion for granted, take a look at both of them, and see which one suits you.

I noticed that there was WxWindows integration for Crystal Space. I haven't had the time to check it out yet. Does anyone know if it works?

If it does, how well does it work and who is working on it?

Raknet Seems very easy to use (I made a client server thing for a game in less than an afternoon). But ease of use doesn't mean its good. I'm not sure if it is or not, but it does sound good.

Another one I had heard of is SDL's networking. Not too sure about that one. I don't know where it is located. The SDL website is at

Hey everyone! Just a small notice to everyone that uses Crystal Space. The Crystal community is up and running! Now all we need is some articles or tutorials on to get it going.

Just write any article that could be useful for game development (or even application development) preferably that could be used for Crystal Space. Everyone is very welcome to do so! So please, register and write your articles or tutorials for the Crystal Space community!

Wow, great job! Your tutorial seems very extensive indeed! Smiley

The only problem I can see is that in some of the images, you can't really make out the text.  Sad
