Hello,

I'm dealing with the same problems, except I'm using Windows 7 and VS 2010 Express.

All I can contribute for now is that I tried downloading wxWidgets 2.8 separately
and copying/overwriting into the winlibs\lib and include folders
and that didn't change anything.

My next plan is to look for other source code to see if it's done differently
now and the test app wasn't updated or something to that effect.

Hello again,

Okay almost a month later I got to redo some things and reinforced I'm an idiot.
I more thoroughly skimmed the windows libraries installer and noticed service pack one should be installed for MSVC.

So after some simple updates, reinstall and a recompile my problems are down to 2 compile errors.
wxtest still doesn't work and some problem finding 2 source files related to gl shaders
..\..\plugins\video\render3d\shader\shaderplugins\glshader_cg\beautify_cg.cpp and combiner_cg.cpp

Not immediately concerned because my latest focus is GUI.
I'm not ruling out I failed to follow some other compiling preparation.

Hello,

My latest compile only had one error related to the CEGUI test app.
Trying to compile it from source files in the test folder was giving me plenty of errors that look like CEGUI's fault.

All of this is done on MSVC++ 2011 Express.

This was compiled using a recent CS2.0 subversion download and cs-win32libs-2.1.
Pleasantly down from 16 errors previously.

The only changes made to the ceguitest.cpp and .h is the
#include <CEGUI.h> and related <.h> lines to #include "(directory location)/CEGUI.h"

As an aside, if someone could direct me to how i go about making the #include <CEGUI.h> line work it'd be appreciated,
I don't know whether it is related to the Added Dependency library files, Project Directories or System Variables.

I saw mention with the Ares project about switching over to wx instead of using CEGUI.
I'll switch over to trying out wx when I have some more time.

Oh nice.

I didn't notice all of the code in the apps folder.
So my new request is big bold idiot proof words after the tutorials
saying something like, "Look at the test and sample app code for more info."

This saves from my next questions about the terrain system I'll wait
till after looking over all of the samples.

It gives me hope I can get a dream game or two made.

I didn't get through the entire manual yet... for CS version 2.0.

I'd like to request a tutorial based around either a 2D program or putting an overlay on top of the render.
Specifically I'm looking for fast easy knowledge of how to get the CEGUI plugin loaded
and used in the application as well as drawing images or whatever over the render for a UI.

I admittedly haven't had free time lately to experiment a lot and see what fails,
I assume most or all of this is done in the frame function just before or after the view is rendered
by the render manager.
