16  Associate Projects / CEL Discussion / Ok so cell...? on: May 26, 2006, 03:07:17 am
I gathered from the source forge page that it somehow makes making games with crystal space easier, which is great but I have no idea what "easier" is, is it worth learning how to integrate into crystal space?

(sorry I just asked this about crystal blend, I'm trying to find out what everything does)

I followed this guide to compile http://community.crystalspace3d.org/tiki-read_article.php?articleId=17

I got to the end using MINGW32 to compile and this is what happened when I typed it in, it didn't take a while when he I typed in jam and it looks like it was on the directions, afterwards though there was no exe file and when I entered walk test it didn't do anything.

Ok what I meant to say is with Crystal blend you create a few levels in Blender and export them to Crystal blend and it plays straight though one to the other.

but, in normal Crystal Space you can program in things like a loading bar while the level is loading or a cut scene.

Is that right?

so basically with crystal blend you go through and make a ton of levels in a row, but in crystal space you can use c++ to program in things like a cutscean or a loading meader?

The windows version is being sold?  Or can you post a exe for us of that?

thanks, they don?t' have a about section but I gathered that it has features that make blender easier to use... Can you still build a level with blender for the normal crystal space, if so then I don't get the difference.  Can both handle higher level polygons?

I know crystal blend is more friendly towards blender but what does that mean exactly?

How can I integrate Cell into it (I saw the link on the front page)
And I can get the documentation and I'm getting the c++ program and I'll find out how to compile from the documentation.  I'm following http://community.crystalspace3d.org/forum/index.php/topic,1073.0.html  to try to make a first level so I'll try that and get back to you, but do I have to integrate cell before compiling some how and if so is there a whole different set of instructions I should use for creating a game with cell.

Hey I'm looking for a engine to start writing a game in and I know it will take a while... but I was wondering, is Crystal a full gaming engine or just a visual one?
