1  Crystal Space Development / General Crystal Space Discussion / Re: Software Renderer Requirements on: August 21, 2005, 01:25:52 pm
I personally think that a SW renderer is a bit old fasioned.

Even if somebody has borked drivers or no HW accalleration. Then they should fix that instead of using the SW renderer.

I also think that especially the games that are being made with CS do not really have any advantege in having SW rendering. Atleast in our case we will most likely never use SW and will probably not support it.

Owh well ... thats my 2 €cents.
2  Crystal Space Development / General Crystal Space Discussion / what's the best 3d program? on: January 17, 2005, 06:36:12 pm
I use Maya and thats why I have revised and extended the Maya exporter. I currently have a working world exporter that exports the meshes as GenMesh or Sprite3D. It also exports lights with Halo's. I have not yet commited the changes but thats because I plan to do a much bigger task. One of them is write a Maya plugin for the exporting of the meshes. This because the exporter script is very slow on large meshes or big worlds. Hopefully I will be able to commit something within the next month. But I can't promise anything.

I'm having trouble with the World Format breakdown tutorial becasue when i try submit it it reads the XML as HTML but if i say to not include HTML then it just deletes it from the page entirely.

I'ld like to see it in the article itself ... If you want me I can help with it.
