1  Miscellaneous / Article/Tutorial Discussion / Re: Is the tutorials in the documentation under the LGPL? on: July 08, 2006, 04:51:43 am
Would you have any suggestions on exactly how I should modify the source?

i.e. every time I modify it, should I put a line in saying my name and the date? (every time? Cry )

Or rather, do I put the changes in a changelog?

Thanks for replying. Cool

I would like to use the third tutorial in the documentation (called simpmap)
as a starting point for making a game with Crystal Space.

I noticed in the Crystal Space source, that there is the code for the
simpmap tutorial (simpmap.cpp, simpmap.h) and it is under the LGPL.

If I copy and use the code from the documentation, is it under the LGPL?
Is the code (in the documentation) under any copyright or license?

The reason being is to avoid the extra fuss, the LGPL states that:

b) You must cause the files modified to carry prominent notices
stating that you changed the files and the date of any change.

It would be nice to avoid any fuss or uncertainty of exactly
what you are supposed to do (when modifying "LGPL'd" code).

Thanks for any help! Smiley
