CS docs says enough about shaders and it's also self-explanatory when you know Cg language. There are also two movies from CS conference about this. Dig CS site for this.

But also you need to write small wrapper for them to connect CS.

Camera always has spring and always follows the actor smoothly (except first person mode in the newcamera).
Use robot's pcmesh to get correct information.

About acceleration - I don't remebmer how actormove is made internally, but there is no acceleration control it's hardcoded (if exists) because it's specific for games. You cna always control everything via CS. Check the CS API.

At this moment I'm testing CS 1.2 on FreeBSD 6.2. Unfortunatelly linking works strange, I have zilion of warnings like 'undefined reference to memcpy' or 'to strlen' - functions from standard library, maybe it's related to configure script and not that hard to fix, because compilation goes fine.
I'll test some new things soon, just writing this pos to not forget what I did Smiley

Programing is a knowedgle not about c++ or any language but about changing own ideas to computer's sequential logic. Sorry but you need to learn programming. At least thinking as programmer, it's too essential and long to explain stuff like this step by step. Maybe try UML logic first - buy a book, then read CEL xml documentation and everything will be easy Smiley

1- yes, in your game logic, e.g. after pushing jump button it counts half a second and activate jump action then
yo can try to use also quest system for this, but in this case maybe it's little dirty way

2 - the same answer, in your game logic, nobody said that up arrow is just walking forward, when you push up key then activate first small animation and then main animation
