I tried it with cygwin now but the result is the same.

Then I tried compiling with suse. It works so far. I have 3 .a files in the right directories.
Now I tried compiling "simple1" with Code::Blocks. I linked libcrystalspace-1.2, libcrystalspace_opengl-1.2 and libcrystalspace_python-1.2.
But I got errors like this: crystalspace-src-1.2.1/libs/csutil/ptmalloc/ptmalloc3.c|675|undefined reference to `pthread_setspecific'|
Which lib do I have to link to get rid of those errors?

I also tried to compile the 1.4 svn version. It compiled alright, but when trying to execute walktest (./walktest) I get this error:
./walktest: error while loading shared libraries: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory
Weird thing is that IS in the directory.

Ok, I did that.
But it still does not work. Msys should create something like mycsfolder/out/msysx86/... but it doesn't.

when I first compiled CS a few years ago, I used VC++ 2005. Everything went well. Now, after reinstalling the system I thought it was time to fresh up on CS a little. But much has changed, nowerdays I use Code::Blocks and thing that platform independance is important. So I downloaded cs-1.2.1 source and tried the Msys compiling manual. Msys says that everything is ok, from configuren to building. But in fact nothing is ok, in fact Msys seems to do nothing. The console has normal output:

But there are no directories created, nor any dlls, .a .o etc.

Hoever, manually typing "mkdir /d/something" works.

(I thought it might be a bug or something and tried the cs-svn version, but same thing there)

Finally, I installed VC++ 2008 + psdk + dx + etc and compiled the 1.2.1 got some errors there (gmesh3ds.cpp(325) : error C2664: 'lib3ds_io_new': )  which I researched about. They seem to be conversion errors which occur with the new VC version.

So, once again, I tried the svn version and everything compiled. But now, when trying to start one of the sample exe's they say something like:

Could not initialize application (0xc0150002)

Now I am really confused, because nothing I do seems to work.

I would like to stick to my original try, to compile cs with msys so that is priority, but still I am curious why every atempt is failing?

- Version of CS : 1.2.1 and svn
- Version of winlibs package: cs-win32libs-1.2_002.exe
- Operating system: XP SP3
- Compiler: gcc / vc
- Video card: Nvidia GT 8800

but I actually asked how I can tell a CEL entity to do the AI stuff, not how to programm the AI itself. (what I've already done several times in other languages)

A inputcontrolled entity works like that:

   if Message=this{
      do this
   }elseif Message=that{
      do that

Sendmessage is called, when I push a key or click a mouse button etc.
But I want to create an entity, which should fully work on it's own without pushing buttons.

it seems that I get used to CEL, but.. how can I programm selfacting entities?
All the things I've done so far, are entities, which react on keyborard input via SendMessage().
(Like it is done in the walktut sample) But I couldn't figure out, how Messages are sent and how
 I could sent something like an "Update"-message to a NPC.

if figured out, how CEL works. I bind a key to a message and everytime the key is pressed or released, the entity gets the specific message.
Works good with keys. I have done well with adding new keys and functions. But what do I have to do to rotate eg. the x-axis by the mouse x speed?

I am using the CEL walktut to integrate new functios. I have pcactormove to move the entity, but all I found was:

But the RotateTo description says, that this command just manipulates the y-angle. And RotateLeft just accepts true or false, but no speed parameter.

Yes, I could set the rotationspeed to the mouse speed, but is that the only way?
Then I would have to rotate the entity with rotatespeed left and right and with an angle up and down.

Does it just work that way, or is there a method to do it the same way?

Ok, I reinstalled all the stuff and changed the things again. Now it works. I don't know why.
There must have been something that I missed to delete.

Of course that is what I thougt first too, but I watched every file in the data directory and found no 'badone' things.

I took the walktut code and tried to remove everything that has to do with the behaviour of "badone" (to make the code more simple). I removed the class, the functions and the stuff in the worldfile.

But I got these errors:
Fatal Error!
cel.addons.celentity:  Couldn't create behaviour with name 'badone_behave'!
[node: world,sector(name=Scene),addon,behaviour(name=badone_behave)]

Fatal Error!
Testscene:  Can't find region or start position in region!

Fatal Error!
Testscene:  Couldn't create player!


And I don't understand why these errors appear, because I only removed the 'badone' stuff.

I have already spent months to understand CS and CEL. I've read the CS tutorials, the CEL tutorial, the manual and everything I found in the web. But I got stuck. Even when I tried to modify the walktut programm it caused nothing but errors and more confusion. I think that I didn't even understand how the engine really works.
(To prove that I am not an Idiot, I have already learned to use BlitzBasic, BlitzMax, C++, Delphi, Javascript, PHP, Html, CSS, Soundediting and a few graphicsprogramms (C4D, Blender, Photoshop, Illustrator, Gimp, Artweaver))
Yeah, it often was hard to learn things, and everytime I got through it somehow. But I have no clue how to get on with CS and CEL.

Am I the only one, who has this problems? Does anyone have a tip what to read, or how to read? Are there any other tutorials?
Before you post it, I don't want to use celstart. I want to use CS and CEL for including it into C++ and to programm with it.
Apart from compiling, including it, and compiling the walktut programm with a different levelfile I managed nothing but getting more errors...

No, I don't think so. There are maybe inoffical prebuilds, you should try with google.
Or you could say what exactly doesn't work and we try to help.

Otherwise you could download CELstart. Its a executable, but you cannot use it like CS and CEL, but you can also develop games with it.

You have to compile it.
Go to the downloadsection and download the source. Then follow the manual instructions to compile it on your system.
