In our CrystalSpace-based project, we are using the latest SVN of CEGUI. In order to port the current code to Windows, I am trying to build the application (and its underlying libraries) using solely Visual C++ 2005 Express Edition (VC8). I have checked out the latest svn of CEGUI and have tried just using the .sln (solution) file included. However, it fails because it lacks PCRE. Looking at PCRE, it seems I will have to load the files into a VC8 solution file and compile them "manually" (i.e., setting the options and such myself, rather than relying on a pre-made solution file).

While this looks like it will work, it just seems in-elegant to me. I was wondering how y'all compiled the libraries in cs-win32libs for usage with VC8? Am I on the right track, or do y'all do something different (and hopefully easier Smiley)?

Thanks!
