I'm working with version 0.99 on Microsoft Visual Studio 2003. I've managed to compile everything just fine, but I'm having a couple issues running the compiled tutorial samples. With Simple1 I get a "failed to locate 3d renderer" error. With the others, it seems as though nothing is running at all when I attempt to debug, and VS gives the following output:

2006\ProjectX\Debug\ProjectX.exe', Symbols loaded.
'ProjectX': Loaded 'C:\WINDOWS\system32\ntdll.dll', No symbols loaded.
'ProjectX': Loaded 'C:\WINDOWS\system32\kernel32.dll', No symbols loaded.

'ProjectX': Loaded 'C:\WINDOWS\system32\comctl32.dll', No symbols loaded.
'CProjectX': Loaded 'C:\WINDOWS\system32\shfolder.dll', No symbols loaded.
'ProjectX': Unloaded 'C:\WINDOWS\system32\shfolder.dll'
The program '[2488] ProjectX: Native' has exited with code 2 (0x2).

The environment variable is set correctly (checked a thousand times Tongue)

I read the tutorials and other posts, and I'm confident that this specific issue was not covered (at least not in a way that I managed to ascertain).

Thanks a ton for the help!

What exactly is the value of CRYSTAL? Just to doublecheck that you really set it correctly. Because that's the only thing I can think of.

I've got it set to C:\program files\CS, which should be right for what I'm doing with it. I spent quite a while wrestling with this issue. I'm sorry I didn't reply sooner, I was on vacation all week Smiley.

Hmm... Do the apps in CS itself work? Like walktest? CS is used a lot with MSVC so it should work but I don't use MSVC myself so it is hard to give concrete help here.

I compiled CS with MSVC million times, and it works without any error. When walktest runs, any other apps will run.

Anything that came pre-compiled works fine.

Build your app into your CS folder. Maybe this will help. I don't know, what is the problem, when env var is correct sad
