Compiling everything

If you are using a Unix-like platform (including MacOS/X) or you use MingW/MSYS or Cygwin on Windows then the following instructions should work:

cd CS

./configure

jam

cd ../cel it doesn't work, but cd cel does

export CRYSTAL=../CS won't except "export CRYSTAL= /CS" but does except "export CRYSTAL=/CS" and "export CRYSTAL=CS" which is it ?

export PATH=$PATH:../CS won't except "export PATH=$PATH: /CS" but does except "export PATH=$PATH:/CS" and "export PATH=$PATH:CS" which is it ?

./configure a error after a short compile

jam jam won't work here

cd ../crystalcore crystalcore in the cel directory ? The instructions says to put it in the data folder with the main directory (crystal core) see the differents ?

For MSVC build the CS/mk/msvc/wkstypical.sln solution CS, cel/msvc/wkscel.sln for CEL, and crystalcore/mk/msvc/wkscrystalcore.sln for Crystal Core.

Running Crystal Core

To get started you must first download the following files:

    * cc_comcenter_in.zip
    * cc_ground.zip
    * cc_ground_terr.zip
    * cc_lab.zip
    * textures.zip

and place those zip files (not extracted!) in the data/levels/ directory in Crystal Core.

Then you must also get:

    * entities.zip
    * models.zip
    * game_textures.zip

and place those unextracted in the data directory in Crystal Core.

Then you can just run the Crystal Core executable and you should arrive in the inside of the communication center. You can walk around and shoot laser (ctrl key while aiming on screen). You can also press the 't' (teleport) key to go to the other level(s).[/b]

I'm not exactly sure what question you are asking here... Try saying your question more clearly, maybe more people will answer.

A little note: for unix/linux having a / before anything like /cel/, means that the its looking for cel in the home directory, if its just cel/ it looks for cel in the current directory. (I'm not a linux user, so I'm not 100% sure this is true or not)

/cel/ means that cel directory is located in the root directory (which probably is wrong)

I'm talking about MinGW and Msys under Windows XP SP2

If it was linux, I probaly would of have it by now.

What you mean by data/levels/Crystal Core ?

There's 3 sub directory with the folder name data

And even if those are the Crystal Core directory, where is the Crystal Core directory suppose to be in ?

And cygwin won't except EXPORT= /CS I assume that the .. in EXPORT=../CS means space bar, right ?

And yes, I did download those files "UNZIP" into a Crystal Core folder. Not sure where to put the folder however.

By the way, CS compile just fine, it's getting the stinking Crystal Core to work that's the problem.

Maybe you should start by telling us what the error is?

For all we know from the description you give us, it could be you didnt't CS as in a path (not sure if you need that to compile though)  Smiley

I think I see your error.

The instructions shown in the website is the full instuctions to build cs, cel, and crystalcore.

The instructions assume you already have cs, cel and crystalcore downloaded.

Instructions for building cs:
Code:

> cd CS
> ./configure
> jam


You seemed to have already done this.

Instructions for building cel:
Code:

> cd ../cel
> export CRYSTAL=../CS
> export PATH=$PATH:../CS
> ./configure
> jam


The '..' means your path. So it would be

cd /c/cel

in your case (thats if you have cel downloaded to that directory that is). So:
Code:

> cd /c/cel
> export CRYSTAL=/c/CS
> export PATH=$PATH:/c/CS
> ./configure
> jam

Then to building crystalcore:
Code:

> cd ../crystalcore
> export CEL=../cel
> export PATH=$PATH:../cel

That work with cel, but not with crystalcore

Hmm, I'm not sure...

Did you tamper with crystalcore? Are you sure you downloaded crystalcore properly?

The only thing I can think of is that the configure file doesn't exist anymore... in that case you need to download it again (probably better to get a clean copy of crystalcore).
