Hello,

when I tried to run some CEL examples form blender2crystal there are allways this error meesage:
Code:
crystalspace.application.celstart: CEL physical layer missing!

I searched about it here in the forum and found something about a CEL environment variable. But I don't know how this should exactly be done.
I'am using Gentoo. When I install crystalspace the file
Code:
/etc/env.d/90crystalspace
was generated. In this file is the Crystalspace environment variable:
Code:
CRYSTAL_PLUGIN=/usr/lib/crystalspace
CRYSTAL_CONFIG=/etc/crystalspace
Installing CEL didn't generate such a file in the env.d directory.

My first attempt to solve this was to create a own file with the CEL variable, like that one:
Code:
CEL_PLUGIN=/usr/lib/cel
CEL_CONFIG=/etc/cel
CEL=/usr/lib/cel
and her you can see my problem. I don't know the exactly name of the variable. Can somebody tell me its name?

Maybe there is a other problem so her is my configuration:

  • crystalspace-1.0.1
  • cel-1.0.1
  • gcc-4.1.2
  • glibc-2.5-r4
  • python-2.5.1-r2

I installed everything with portage.

It would be great if somebody can help me with my problem.

thanks

Can you tell me exactly what you did? Where did you get CS and CEL from? How did you install them?

Setting an environment variable temporarily in one shell session can be done with 'export CEL=blabla'

Thanks for your reply,

I installed Crystalspace and CEL with Portage. (Package Manager in Gentoo).
Portage gets the source packages from a Sourceforge mirror.
I didn't realized any Problems during the compilation prozess, so I thougth the problem is the CEL environment variable. I tested it with
Code:
export CEL=/usr/lib/cel
but it didn't work. Then there is an other error
Code:
crystalspace.application.celstart:  Can't load behaviour layer 'blpython' with id 'cel.behaviourlayer.python'!

Could it be that crystalspace and cel did not work with python-2.5.1 which I use? (blend2crystal CEL Python and XML examples)

Maybe i use the wrong directory or some files there are missing. Here is the content of the directory:
Code:

Yes, it is possible that you need python 2.4 for CS+CEL 1.0.1 right now. I'm not sure what the status is of python 2.5 and CEL.

Looks like a bad compile maybe.
