VFS, needing help
«

Hi there, I'm just new to CS. I've been reading the manual, but sometimes it gets confusing.
Well, I just wanted to know how to mount a file in the VFS, for instance, an export .zip file of a scene in blender, using blender2crystal. And how can I start the application with CS, my world.zip, the VFS and Ubuntu (feisty 7.04).
Thanks for help to everyone,
Tuxkhan

Hiya,
Normal practice is to move your exported .zip file into your CS\Data folder and then add a line like this to your VFS.cfg:
VFS.Mount.lev/world = $@data$/world$/ attaches a CS\Data\world folder as '/lev/world' on the VFS or
VFS.Mount.lev/world = $@data$/world.zip attaches the zip file as the same.
Then you can test your level by going to the CS main directory on your command line and typing walktest world -relight. Providing you've built the CS suite.

Awesome! Glad to help
*Oh and the -relight is only necessary on the first run of any given level. The engine should light and cache the lightmaps after the first run, if the level is loaded from an extracted folder!

Hi!
-relight is old. You should use lighter2 now. But if you are using blender2crystal, just click [ ] lighter2 and then click Run... Everything should work!

Well, -relight is still needed if you use thing or static lighting with bruteblock terrain plugin. Lighter2 only supports genmesh for now and will never support thing.
Greetings,
