Is there any other way to use portals in maps created in 3DMax without editing the XML file?? 3D gives support for portals???

Just for mention:

I've discovered that the answer is yes.

In the Exporter Guide was all the explanation. Just name your polygon beginning with "_p_" and all set. (If you want a warping portal, you'll have to set some properties.)

  I have read what the way to creat a portal in 3ds max you said above and I tried. When i creat a thingmesh object in the  3ds max and named _f_wall. Then i used planeshift to export it, it said "Export aborted: NO OBJECT FOUND AS THINGMESH FACTORY OF _f_wall ", I don't know how to solve it. And i also created a portal in the model, but it said:"If you want to add a portal with more than 2 triangles add a property called VERTS with list of verts clockwise", i can not find where it is. Please help me ! Thank you very much!

AFAIK if you want to create "thing" mesh without factory, don't add "_f_" or anything.
Can't say anything about portals because I didn't tried to create them yet.

BTW start from simplier things, I can't say for sure, but I wasn't able to export anything with default "Planeshift Exporter" so I'm using modified one and hoping to see new exporter in the future...
