C++ and XML along with other tutorials?

I've been scanning over the site and I've noticed that tbhere are tutorilas for the C++ language, buit there aren't many about the topic I'd like to cover from straight C++. Most of these tutorials use XML to store data or information. Should I use XML files or is there another way to do this all in C++?

Also, are there any other tutorials to learn CS and CEL from? I'd like to learn all of CS capabilities and how to use them properly. Thank you for your response.

I believe you can constuct meshes from vertices, load textures and add lights by C++ code as well. But this is not neccesary, the engine can just load xml files with this information already stored.
