I wanted to make a programm where I can press the arow buttons and my character has to walk in certain directions (depending on which button I press). After searching for something similar I came up with the isotest.cpp file which I found in "CS/apps/isotest/isotest.cpp". I tried to replace the kwartz character with my own one but it didn't work. So my question is: is it possible to make something like isotest but with my own character (exported from blender2crystal as genmesh) without using CEL?

Sure, that should be possible.
However, if you just change isotest to accomodate your own mesh,
you'll have to make sure you export your mesh to be of the same type,
or possibly change the code a bit.
I recommend you to use CS/scripts/jamtemplate/createproject.sh so that
you have a complete project structure, then change the code so it behaves
as isotest, if that's what you want.

(in the zip there is my isotest.cpp isotest.h the blend file and my exported genmesh)
