Hi coders .

please tell me is it possible we write a Simple Direct3d renderer plugin for CrystalSpace ?

we (me & my wife) want to do this to apply in an American university, do you think it is useful to make a good resume and applying ?

please give me some advice.

if it is possible to write a renderer, explain the crystal space architecture and how we can write the plugin.
 surely, we will public the source code after applying Wink

PS: we studied game programming for 2 years, we have more than 10 years experience in programming. 
some of our books is :
  • 3D game engine design
  • Real time rendering 3rd
  • Game engine architecture
  • ShaderX 6
  • Game programming gems 6
  • Advanced 3d game programming with directX 10
  • Physically based rendering
  • Ray tracing from ground up
  • HLSL complete reference
  • ...

could you please tell me the difference between the following projects:

grpOpenglRenderer
grpRenderAll
grpRenderers

what interface must I implement to make a directx Renderer plugin ?

A Direct3D renderer may not particularily be welcome in CS, because it would not add any value versus the OpenGL implementation, while needing a lot of work for us to maintain it.

That does not mean that you don't have the right to implement that if you want it, but this would probably have more sense to do it as an experimentation rather than in the goal of being integrated in the main CS branch.

If you want to do it, then you should have a look at the iGraphics3D object, that's the interface that you would have to implement. The OpenGL implementation is in plugins/video/render3d/opengl.
