Hey everyone, Iam new to these forums and i'll like to know if Dev C++(IDE) which has a built in Mingw compiler can be used in compiling and building CS.

Hello kay

i am newbie also, and for me it didnt worked at all, because it is (as far as i know) impossible to import the correct workspaces from msvc++ format to devc++ project data.

for building Crystal Space i used the mingw (msys), so from console, that worked very good, for the how to you need to read the manual of cs, there it is explained in the install chapter if i remember right.

more i cant help you for now, but may be the others, they have much more knowledge than meĀ  smiley

It is very hard to compile CS with Dev C++ because we don't have project files. However you can compile CS with mingw the normal way and the configure Dev-C++ to work with that so that you can at least compile your own projects that use CS using Dev-C++. This is explained in the manual btw.

Why not? You still need to compile CS with mingw. For that you need MSYS.
