plz help me,  i know it has it in the manual on the site...

and ive tried everything, im confused.....is says jam is built in, but gives a link...
i type the           

./configure
jam all

but is comes up no

$ ./configure
jam all
checking build system type... i686-pc-mingw32
checking host system type... i686-pc-mingw32
checking for gcc... no
checking for cc... no
checking for cc... no
checking for cl... no
configure: error: no acceptable C compiler found in $PATH
See `config.log' for more details.

then

$ jam all
Jamfile: No such file or directory
...found 7 target(s)...


someone plz!!! help......im seriously confused....help would be greatly appreciated


P.S goodnight people (at least for me anyway..dont know what time it is where u lot are)

Did you install Mingw?

Did you install Msys?

Did you install cs-win32libs?

Did you install all of the above packages in the correct order as indicated by the CS manual?

yes i installed all of those in the correct order and everything....

i just cant figure out how u r supose to compile Crystal Space

The fact that the configure script says that it can not find a compiler is usually indicative of incorrect installation of Mingw or Msys or both. If installed correctly, the Msys shell should automatically set the PATH environment variable to point at the Mingw 'bin' directory containing the compiler and related tools.

i just figured out that i havent actually installed MinGW, only MSYS...

i shall do that now, hope it works

my parents are going to kill me when they find out that i have downloaded more...

(its because when tha megabytes are used their emails go slow....what about me, i load forums, they go slow to)

i mean MSYS, when MSYS is running is it suppose to have $ when you are typing the ./configure??

Smiley!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! i got it working..i think,......well, its working better than it was...

i figured out what was wrong, i hadnt set a directory at the pre-install thing to the MinGW install directory, thnx for helpin

The configure script can be slow on Windows, but as long as it prints status messages as it runs, it should be okay.

Building CS itself can take some time because it is such a large project.
