Doesn't the cs-win32libs package include the necessary headers/libraries?

hmm, i successfully compiled CS a few days ago for the first time.

Use MingW. I had no problems. Only downloading all the correct files was a bit annoying.

after this you have to get msys:
http://prdownloads.sourceforge.net/mingw/MSYS-1.0.11-2004.04.30-1.exe?download

i noticed now, that there is a new version of mingw: 5.0.0
but try to install the one i linked. It works for me.
