I saw several messages about gcc compile problem, tho I think this could help if you said what gcc you use to compile latest CS CVS, even other main packages like kernel etc.., so we could try "again" Cheesy

I use GoboLinux 012 (kernel and I tryed to compile (none completed compilation) latest CS CVS with these GCC releases:

compilation always freezes here:
  g++ <...> plugins/video/render3d/software/pixspecifica.cpp

I have tryed only that command by removing several of its options like optimization etc tho none worked "fully"...

So I have just restored my 0.98 CS compilation backup... where, as I remember, I am not able  to use C.E.L. :/

Are you sure that compilation actually froze on that file? How long did you wait? There are a few files in the project which particularly tax gcc (especially in optimize mode) because they instantiate a tremendous number of templates and/or expand a lot of macros into a significant amount of code. For these files, you must exercise some patience.
