He stated that the administration of President Mohammadu Buhari would continue to assistance the entertainment sector by providing infrastructural facilities.


On the significance of the AFRIMA to Nigeria’s economy and entertainment sector, Mohammed stated that in order to encourage the entertainment sector, the government would partner with private investors to invest much more in the entertainment facilities.


"The entertainment industry is overwhelming in the world ideal now and in Nigeria, we want to do a lot more in providing the proper atmosphere which is infrastructural facilities for the industry.


"We are talking about domestic tourism, a domestic market where we can seriously expose our artists, so this will not only be about government but also private sector to provide the infrastructure.


"On the part of the government, we will encourage far more private sector and philanthropists all over the globe because it is not something we leave to government alone,’’ he stated.


Mohammed stated that hosting of an event such as AFRIMA was an additional way of generating income for the government for the reason that of the tourism element which could bring extra earnings.


"We should not neglect that Nigeria hosted the identical award last year and we have to make a different optimistic request for this year so that it can remain in Nigeria.


"The constructive issue about the award is that we have been in a position to move the music industry from the back corner to the front burner,’’ he stated.
Mohammed stated that the concentration would not be placed only on agriculture or oil and gas, but also on the creative business as a indicates of diversifying the economy.
