Thanks, the screen was black and I could only see a few objects such as the girl and the rob ot and light stuff, but I tyed in  a few commands that gave me errors and it changed so I can see now ok when I hit some of the F commands it says somethings not installed but I put all addins in, anyway I'll keep going

ok I figured out you can run most of the programs now, heres my prob, sr)

I did

also in testmap when I hit 0 to jump it didn't so I hit it 3 times quick and it crashed, I repeated this sevral times, it continues is that supost to happen?

btw when I hit tab and follow commands like this
 -regions

    Load every map in a separate region (default off).
-dupes

    Check for duplicate objects in multiple maps (default off). "
it says -regions unknown command when I type in -regions and when I type in regions it says unknown command too.
It does that for all commands what do I do?

so the whole CS directory is now installed in that file? (so threes no need to make an install file?, I can just do the tutorial as if it's installed to that directory??) (no I don't get an error but I still would like to install for others that may ever need the CS engine.)

ok I got to make install
it was working happaly then this error happened !:( I am admin on comp I have no limit...)

Ok I re installed the cs-win32libs into C:/ and here's what happened.

ok so I went in and followed command

and it printed out a ton of text, and went on and on checking stuff then this happened


So I went to next thing and did the next command not haveing to do with compileing so you can edit source code and stuff

make install
make distclean"

and as you can see at the bottom of the print it gives an error message !

Ok I was in the topic of useing Cygwin to compile.  and it told me to do this


"Make sure you are back in the directory containing the `Makefile' before continuing. From the Bash prompt issue the following command and then hit return.
   

make configure"

So I went to that directory by typeing it in and it said that is a directory.  But when I typed in make configure it gave me

"bash: make: command not found"

Ok so I go to do the

So I tyep C:/ode-0.5 and it says this is directory
then I type make configure it gives error
so I try bash make configure it doesn't work.  What should I do?

What does it mean your fav editor, bloodshed doesn't have that directory..

Ok I think I put most of the add-on libraries in the correct folder in the lib folder, I'm going to try compiling it.  I skipped a section called winCVS tutorial... It made no sense I didn't have that program and it was old so all the fill out this info wasn't correct, so is that ok? (I'm going to the Visual C++ 7)(I downloaded newest version, I'm guessing it's the same as v7 (2003)

ok I got the tool kit and I was reading up and it said I need code lybraies, so I donwload the zip, what do I do with em?

I can't find anything that is called a manual (it's probobly right there, but I'v never had to compile a engine so help would be much apresheated )

There is not clear manual just that 10 page thing on how to copy code into files and make exe's out of them, sr to be such a noob but could someone show me how to compile this, I haven't used someone elses code in a long long time.

btw could someone exsplain not only a good compileing program but how to use it, please.

downloaded the program from one of the many install links and installed  by clicking next picking download server for client to download from then dubble clicked exe and it pulled up dos window with some typeing.  What do I do to turn the code into the engine!?
