1  Crystal Space Development / General Crystal Space Discussion / Re: how to export car model from 3ds max ..? on: June 07, 2006, 07:50:10 am
crystalspace can read 3ds files. It has support for this. Read the documentantion of the current version in subversion. Tle latestst pseudo stable version has this also described under "4.15.5 Loading 3DS and MD2 Models"

3  Miscellaneous / Article/Tutorial Discussion / Found two errors in Documentation on: June 02, 2006, 11:51:50 am
Hi,

First error:

in CS/trunk/docs/html/manual/cs_4.2.4.9.html#4.2.4.9 ( 4.2.4.9 Laser Class )
Quote
This function handles the lifetime of the laser. Again depending on the elapsed ticks since previous frame. This function also makes the beam flicker by changing the color. Additionally, every time the laserbeam changes color it will check if there is an adversary hit by the laser. This happens with the Check() function below:

void Laser::Check ()
{
  // Do a beam to check if we hit an adversary.
  csVector3 isect;
  iMeshWrapper* mesh = lasersector->HitBeamPortals (laserstart,
     laserend, isect, 0);
  if (mesh)
  {
    csRef<Adversary> adv = CS_GET_CHILD_OBJECT (
       mesh->QueryObject (), Adversary);
    if (adv)
    {
      // Hit!
      app->ExplodeAdversary (adv);
    }
  }
}

it should be
Quote
    if (adv)
    {
      // Hit!
      app->GetGame().ExplodeAdversary (adv);
    }

In the source it is so.

The second error:
in CS/trunk/docs/html/manual/cs_4.9.21.html#4.9.21 ( 4.9.21 Explosion Mesh Object )
Quote
Object Loader

Also see the general documentation for particle systems for other recognized keywords. See section Particle Systems in General.

<dropsize w="" h="" />

    Size of the droplets for the snow (width and height).
<center x="" y="" z="" />

    Center of the explosion. In most cases you should use the origin here (0,0,0) and let the engine control the position of the explosion.

it should be:
Quote
<dropsize w="" h="" />

    Size of the particles of the explosion (width and height).
<center x="" y="" z="" />

I think these are copy & paste errors wink

I have the current subversion trunk. But i wont upload it, because i think i have no write access wink .. but i have a sourceforge account

4  Crystal Space Development / Support / Re: Problem with Push function in csStringArray on: June 01, 2006, 12:32:37 pm
You clear the buffer with spaces, i think if you clear your buffer with \0 (ascii code zero) this with solve your problem. Because most string fuction determine the end of a C-string at the ending "0".

6  Crystal Space Development / Support / objcopy crashes when compiling walktest on: May 31, 2006, 10:48:09 pm
Hi,

i tried to compile walktest by my own on the following system:

MS Windows XP (32 bit) Prof. (SP2)
Athlon 64 X2
NVIDIA GForce 7800 GT with latest NVIDA driver

MinGW 5.0.2
MSYS 1.0.10

(cs-win32libs-0.99r0_018.exe cs-win32libs-0.99r0_020.exe cs-win32libs-0.99r0_021.exe) each time, one of them. tried all (install/compile/deinstall complete environment MingW/MSYS/cslibs)

I cleared the folder from CS and decompressed the http://crystalspace3d.org/cvs-pseudo-stable/cel-pseudo-stable-2006-01-27.zip to get a "clear" source folder without headers/dlls/etc.

At the end of "jam walktest" there is the following error:

...

C++ ./out/msysx86/debug/libs/csplugincommon/sndsys/cyclicbuf.o
C++ ./out/msysx86/debug/libs/csplugincommon/sndsys/snddata.o
C++ ./out/msysx86/debug/libs/csplugincommon/sndsys/sndstream.o
Archive ./out/msysx86/debug/libs/libcrystalspace.a
Archive ./out/msysx86/debug/libs/libcrystalspace.a
Ranlib ./out/msysx86/debug/libs/libcrystalspace.a
LinkApplication walktest.exe
DoSplitDebugInfo walktest.exe
...updated 240 target(s)...

Directly after

DoSplitDebugInfo walktest.exe

is printed an windows with "Objcopy.exe crashed ...." the file "walktest.exe" was created, but it is not executable. Windows "says": "this is not a valid Win32 Application" and MinGW means: "Permission denied" if i try to satrt it from there .. or within the windows command console.

Any suggestions?

Thanks in advance wink

Hi,

i had today the same problem with MinGW/MSYS. The gcc was not found within the MSYS environment. I deinstalled all (the same files you used) and reinstalled all in the Order

MinGW
MSYS

then i started msys and typed "gcc --version" her should apear "gcc 3.4.2 blablabla ..."

then end it and install the CS libs.
