I was wondering if CEL was needed to create/help with a First Person Shooter type. I am also working with C++ and do not want to use CelStart. Should I use CEL, in these cases, or not?

Of course you can do anything in pure CS and c++.
CEL is just very good helpler for making games.
Also there is no problem use CS+CEL with c++, nobody said that you need to use celstart scripting evironment. It's just one of the options.

Right, but finding tutorials for these are rather hard to find. I was just making sure I was on the right path.

~Thank you.

CEL itself contains a C++ walktut tutorial. It is in the CEL documentation and also in (apps/tutorial/walktut).
