I updated to 2.6.10 that's included in slack 10.1 and recompiled my nvidia kernel interface/drivers.  after recompiling CS I now get:

WARNING: could not load plugin 'crystalspace.graphics2d.glx'
Error loading Graphics2D plugin.
WARNING: failed to initialize plugin 'crystalspace.graphics3d.opengl'
No 3D driver!
No 3D driver!
Error initializing system!

Is the configure script finding OpenGL or GLX when it runs?

You might have to tell the script specifically where the glx libs are then - and make sure Mesa is installed.

You might want to just retry the config script and see if it picks things up. If not, take a look at config.log and see where the test failed. You might need to add some additional LDFLAGS or CFLAGS to indicate where your libraries are located.

Well, I  couldn't figure it out, so I put a fresh linux installation on my system, everything compiles nice and neat. csdemo works with no problems.
Mesa3d makes my 3d applications run extremely slow. so I  removed it and reinstalled my nvidia drivers again and got some really nice FPS.
Thank you very much for you help!
take care.
