Me noob, want make game!

Hi everyone!

Im pretty new to real game designing and have really only made games in RPGmaker.

Id like to make a very brief game to increase my skills. My idea is a final fantasy tactics like game, basically jsut a floating block of land in the air with a couple of 2d sprites battling it out in a chess like grid. Throw in some flinging arrows, maybe a AOE fire spell, some health bars.

do you think it would be simple to make that?

Doesn't sound bad, but you have to question how simple such a thing can really be. I thought a game that used turns rather than realtime action might take less time coding but after working on it, it isn't really.

To improve your skills you should read materials on programming languages, general game programming, and for Crystal Space read the docmentation on this site and keep up to date with the forums / mailing list.
