Bonez Adventures Released
«

Jorrit posted this on the mailing list earlier. Since I've been itching for that first topic under "Finished Projects," I had to echo it here:
Quote
Since the people from Bonez Adventures are rather shy and don't
advertize their game here I'd like to announce that they have released
their game now. Visit
http://bonez-adventures.com
for more
information. You can download the trial version here:
http://bonez-adventures.com/downloads/bonez-setup.exe
A linux version will come soon.

It certainly looks interesting. I only have Linux at the moment, so I can't try it out right away; eagerly awaiting the Linux version.

It doesn't seem like english is the first language of the developers of this game. Are they planning on fixing the grammer and hard to understand parts of the dialogue before selling it, or is it meant to be in a different language?
Great game, though. Hard to fine your way.

It certainly has a lovely visual look - the graphics invoke the 1930's "feel" quite well. But, as mentioned above, the English language translation is absolutely awful - it desperately needs re-writing by someone with a better grasp of English. Additionally, might I make a suggestion that the dialog that takes place at the reception desk about all Arabs accepting bribes is an unnecessarily racist generalisation - and removing the reference would do no harm to the game whatsoever. These issues unfortunately seriously damage the positive aspects of the game -- the great amount of work that has obviously gone into the lovely graphics and the superb consistency of artistic style - it's a shame to see such good work let down by something so fundamental as a bad script, poorly translated.
