I'm running on Windows XP. I have cs_peusdo_release_2005_09_03.zip. My compiler is MinGW + Msys. I have Python 23 installed.

CS was built fine and I got cspace.py and cspace.pyc. I also got the cspython.dll. Walktest works fine. When I run tutorial1.py for instance from within IDLE I get this error:

Traceback (most recent call last):
  File "C:\CS\scripts\python\tutorial1.py", line 138, in ?
    if not csInitializer.RequestPlugins(object_reg, plugin_requests):
  File "C:\CS\cspace.py", line 12291, in _csInitializer_RequestPlugins
    for cls, intf, ident, ver in map(
  File "C:\CS\cspace.py", line 12292, in <lambda>
    lambda x: _get_tuple(x), plugins):
  File "C:\CS\cspace.py", line 12287, in _get_tuple
    return tuple(x())
  File "C:\CS\cspace.py", line 12303, in CS_REQUEST_VFS
    return CS_REQUEST_PLUGIN("crystalspace.kernel.vfs", iVFS)
NameError: global name 'CS_REQUEST_PLUGIN' is not defined

Here are my environment variables:

CRYSTAL = C:\CS;C:\CS\out\msysx86\optimize\plugins\cscript\cspython;

PATH = %SystemRoot%\system32;%SystemRoot%;%SystemRoot%\System32\Wbem;C:\Program Files\Common Files\GTK\2.0\bin;C:\CS;C:\CS\out\msysx86\optimize\plugins\cscript\cspython

PYTHON = C:\Progra~1\Python23\python.exe;C:\CS\out\msysx86\optimize\plugins\cscript\cspython

PYTHON PATH = C:\Progra~1\Python23;C:\Progra~1\Python23\DLLS;C:\Progra~1\Python23\LIB;C:\Progra~1\Python23\LIB\LIB-TK;C:\CS;C:\CS\scripts\python;C:\Progra~1\Python23\libs;C:\Progra~1\Python23\include;C:\CS\out\msysx86\optimize\plugins\cscript\cspython

In the manual it reads:

Tell Python where to find `cspace.pm' by setting your `PYTHONPATH' environment variable to mention the directory where `cspace.pm' resides.

I cannot find the 'cspace.pm' file.

Please help, thank you.

PYTHON PATH =

I suppose the space was inserted upon typing?

This is a (now-corrected) typo, it should read "cspace.py".

The CS_REQUEST_PLUGIN() problem was fixed over a week ago. You can grab the fix either directly from CVS or from a snapshot:
