Compiling CS

Hi.
I installed Devcpp and MSYS and when I tried to compile CS, I got the following error

configure: error: no acceptable C compiler found in $PATH

I have WinXP pro.

Any sugestions?

Unfortunately not.

But I'd start here first, and check out Devcpp later. From the error message I assume that the path the the compiler is not in $PATH? (which might be gone after you did the first compile with the instructions above).

Hi. I followed all steps on that page and still, no compiler found on $path...

How can I make CS identify my c compiler?
I have Devcpp installed...

What if I try to compile it directly on Devcpp?

Note: That this step is importent, if you don't do it, it won't work

in 'Support for development environments' uncheck 'Visual 6 and 7' and 'Cygwin' (this only applies if you really don't work with VC or Cygwin, obviously) Leave all other options as they are during installation.

Also make sure you install this in the correct order.

MinGW
MSYS
Win32 Crystalspace Library Point the profile to the correct directory, very importent

Then compile with ./configure --enable-new-renderer and then jam[/b]

I ran into a similar problem in that I assumed (danger - danger) that because I had Dev-Cpp that MSYS would use it. Well it didn't and I have no idea how you would go about binding MSYS to MingW.
I simply downloaded MingW and installed it by itself. MSYS found it no problem and generated a shed load of files and everything *seems* to be working ok.

Here's the screen dump from my system, as follows:

configure: error: cannot find sources (libs/csutil/Jamfile) in . or ..

Am I missing something else?

I would appreciate ANY assistance in this matter.  THANK YOU!!  

Do you accualy have all of the CS sources? What file did you get and from where?

I downloaded the latest stable version of CS from the main site...maybe it was a redirect to SourceForge.

The one I have is as follows:

cs98_004.zip

Is that what I need?
